As a strategy towards building its human capability and capacity for Port Moresby’s Motukea International Terminal, an opportunity is open for an Auto Electrician to join our Engineering team.

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor/ Workshop Manager this role briefly is responsible for and not limited to:

Perform major electrical maintenance and repairs on port equipment including assembling, dismantling and overhaul of equipment components such as motors, alternators etc.

Perform preventative maintenance on various equipment as scheduled assignments tend to be complex and difficult.

Performs electrical maintenance or replace blowers, generators, distributors, starters, and pumps.

Disassembles units and inspects equipment.

Must be able to work without supervision.

Requirements:

Minimum Gr 12 qualification with additional training and certification as an electrical apprentice or vocational training as an electrician.

Must have over 4 years of general work experience as a senior level electrician in a maintenance and repair shop servicing similar vehicles such as tractors, buses, and trucks.

Previous experience in ports, transportation/logistics or heavy construction industry will be an advantage.

“Facilities Supervisor Vacancy– Motukea International Terminal

As a strategy towards building its human capability and capacity for Port Moresby’s Motukea International Terminal, an opportunity is open for an Auto Electrician to join our Engineering team.

Reporting to the Workshop Manager this role briefly is responsible for and not limited to:

Providing support to the Facilities staff and contractors through efficient task coordination, facility management techniques and evaluation.

Develop, implement and maintain a preventative maintenance program for the responsible facilities

Review and recommend the renovation, replacement, decommission of existing facilities.

Assist with the overall coordination of capital projects and renovations to existing facilities

Attend all site meetings at which the architect, general contractor and sub-contractors are in attendance.

Supervise contractors who may be engaged to perform maintenance work for the Terminal.

 Requirements:

Minimum of 4 years’ experience in supervisory role performing building maintenance or facility operation skills.

Facilities Management or Journeyman status in any of the related trades would be considered an advantage.

Knowledge of building systems, trades and materials including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, flooring, and grounds.

Knowledge of policies, practices and procedures governing construction, renovations, and maintenance of facilities

Level I & II Occupational Health & Safety Regulations is preferred. Knowledge of Fire & Building Codes as well as fire/safety system requirements

Must be a holder of Fireman Certificate.

Must have a valid Driver’s License
