EXPORT CUT-OFF FOR COCOA AND COFFEE

Dear Valued Customer and Port Users,

Please note that from 15th February 2023, SPICTL will update its Export Cut-off received window ONLY for FCL COFFEE and FCL COCOA, as follows:

• Change of cut-off from 12hrs to 6hrs against vessel ETB provided by the terminal

As ICTSI South Pacific continues its commitment to support the growth of Agri-products export from PNG, this significant change would guarantee the exporters of these commodities in PNG even more time for the cargo readiness process (mainly on the documentation side) towards the in-gate of their cargo into SPICTL and, therefore, facilitate that FCLs catch the intended vessel.

Please note that for special gate-in requests for FCL COFFEE and FCL COCOA beyond this cut-off, the process remains the same:

• Requests for receival beyond the (new) 6hrs cut-off will be subject to the terminal’s approval.

• If approved, “Late arrival, after cut-off” will apply as usual at public tariff.

How can PNG exporters of FCL COFFEE and FCL COCOA benefit from this 6hrs Export Cut-off receival window?

Shipping Lines that use COPARN (EDI) for Pre-Advise

At the pre-advising stage, the shipping line is responsible for adding commodity COCOA or COFFEE as the Commodity Code for the specific unit, therefore N4 (Terminal Operating System) will automatically update Commodity Code which will trigger a 6hrs Export Cut-off for that specific unit.

  • Shipping Lines that use Manual Pre-Advise at Portal

At the pre-advising stage in the Portal, shipping line is responsible for adding commodity COCOA or COFFEE in the ‘Commodity Code’ field, which has a two-option dropdown menu (as per screenshot).

Therefore, N4 (Terminal Operating System) will automatically retrieve this information from the N4 portal and update Commodity Code which will trigger a 6hrs Export Cut-off for that specific unit. once recorded will automatically capture the 6 hours cut-off.

*** Please note that units that have not been pre-advised correctly as COFFEE or COCOA as per the above-mentioned methods, same will not benefit from 6hrs Export Cut-off receival window. Therefore, the unit will be subject to an Export Cut-off receival window of 12hrs as per standard terms and conditions.

This initiative is effective today, 15th of February 2023, for pre-advise of containers executed today and onwards.
